happy easter everyone, page-4

i have thinking about sparklers proposition and i've gone back to my original conclusion - that trading by consensus is not something that i feel comfortable with nor where my interests lie.

i am also struggling with the notion that some who have expressed interest in participating in a trading consortium have also confessed to having no knowledge or interest in t.a. please note - no offense intended, but my participation on this thread is based on quid pro quo. that is, i am contribute the little that i know in return for the opportunity to learn from others.

trading for me is not just about making money, but a learning experience. that is what makes it fun.

relative to others who regularly post here, i am a newbie. while i have been an investor/trader of stocks for many years, index trading is a new game for me. i have little over a year's experience in index trading and i am at a stage where i am finally making a regular income from my endeavours. i have learnt to trade what i see rather than what i expect - the hard way. i have made mistakes and learnt from the experience.

i am at a stage here i recognise that my trading perspective is too short term. i am seeing and benefiting from the market moves on a day to day basis - but lacking long term vision. hence my interest in cycles. i have been playing with a 55 trading day cycle that has been working well.....and have had greater success in trading since i started using my set of moving averages which i am still refining. however, i need and want to develop this area of interest further.

the benefits of the xjo thread is that it does provide a fertile ground for ideas to be explored as time permits.

if the xjo thread were to fall apart as a consequence of traders breaking away to form a hedge-fund like consortium - so be it. i would rather maintain my independence than have my trading voice diluted/drowned by majority thinking.

of late, i have become a little disturbed that some may view my posts as trading tips rather than an expression of my thinking ......which i would rather others either challenge or contribute their thoughts.

perhaps it is time that i become an anonymous reader of this thread rather than a contributor - and spend the little time i have available developing my areas of interest.

i thank all the regular contributors here for helping me along my trading journey thus far - particularly, san felipe, voltaire, farsight, gse, treggs, hdg, paddington bear.....and that crazy goat man, hedgie.

happy and safe holidays to all.

    cheers.
