Come on, pecs! One doesn't replace "them" all at once and with only one resource. That's what the article I posted was about. You simply stop or curtail the govn't "assistance" on it and use that money to research new, renewable resources, starting now. There are many ideas out there now but the lack of funds stop their development. It's a mechanism the interested parties use: disallow funding in research so that their interests don't suffer. Very old trick. Car companies have buried research on all sorts of oil-less engines.
Coal and Nuclear interests are doing the same thing now. But their days are numbered, I believe because they are ever more quickly killing the goose that lays for them their daily golden egg.
