According to my cousin The whole health system is unsustainable currently in WA , There is not enough GPs in WA especially in the outback hence when people get crook they put off seeing the doc until they get really sick and have to end up in hospital which puts pressure on the high cost ICU beds available and the staff
From a fiscal perspective the nurses in the hospitals have been getting pay rises far higher than the CPI for the last 10 years , with hospital costs to the state tripling in that time frame yet many nurses are dissatisfied at the same time with working conditions not an easy problem to solve .
What if interns were encouraged to go to the provincial towns not just Perth and make it more conducive for overseas and out of state GPs to be hired in WA with relocation expenses subsidised ?
