One of the problems as I see it, is that although it may not be in the interests of the major banks ( or the major bank's shareholders ) to trash Centro, it may be in the interests of some bank execs or advisers. They may perceive a greater potential for bonuses or self-employment opportunities by trashing centro even if it is not the most economic course of action for their employers.
