The mystery of the massive sales on March 13 is solved.
A good friend has supplied details of broker purchases between March 1 & March 17.
On that day of the 13th of March:
Macquarie equity Sold - 1.5mill
JP Morgan Bought - 1.659 mill
DJ Carmicheal bought - 275,000
DJ Carmicheal sold - 277,000
So it appears that their was an on-market swap between Macquarie & JP Morgan ... must have been pre-arranged.
Some other interesting stuff:
Net down between March 1 & March 17:
Macquarie Equity - 1.5 mill
Bell Potter - 303,000
OPES Prime - 340,000 (are they LENDING/SHORTING????)
Etrade - 219,000
Net up for the month to 3 days ago:
JP Morgan - 1,659 mill
Citigroup - 465,000
Comsec - 318,000
Pattersons - 156,000
DJ Carmicheal - 109,000
Of particular interest:
DJCarmicheal - From the 1st of march
bought - 1,884mill
sold - 1,774mill
