I like mine boiled in water with a good a wack of salt and some brown sugar.
Not sure you would do them any favour waking them in the freezer before boiling them tho - too long and slow for the poor things
If the pot is big enough and boiling vigorously enough my experiences is they die on impact - espech if done in smaller batches.
