He didn't say "[he'd] support AHZ".
The quote was "I will continue to remain a strong supporter of the company through my material holding in the company". If the sentence didn't have either "continue to" or "through my material holding in the company" then you would have a stronger point. However those words are there and there for a reason.
The sentence in full can be interpreted as he would only remain a strong supporter of the company if he continued to hold a material holding in the company. If he sold out then he would no longer be a supporter....
The second half of the sentence - whether or not he increased his shares in the placement - is moot. He only gave a 'commitment' - not a legally binding contract.
