Please read what Jace1984 posted re motivation for QE to sell quickly and move on.
Also see other posters who have noted that you need to add to purchase price the debt that Santos has taken on and $500m payment re gas that they will have to provide to market plus conditional payments depending on size of Dorado and royalty payments.
Also, Santos is able to buy at a discount as well is not yet in production. If it was they would have to pay much more.
This transaction suits motivations of QE and Santos to a T.
Also, CVN is much more than just Dorado ie Buffalo, cash on hand etc.
No doubt CVN management will get an announcement out to assist the market understand implications if any for CVN.
