    Yes, it is ridiculously low (if true).

    I can recall a few years ago, WPL paying USD $2.2 per barrel to COP, for 2 C, for oil situated in West Africa. But that was when oil prices was floating around USD $22 to $26.

    This deal value our oil (2C) at less USD $1 a barrel. And current Brent crude is around USD $72. And we are situated in shallow water and safe jurisdiction of Australia.

    Something does not add up.

    If we can, we should pre-empt and buy out the leases and on-sell it for at least USD $2 a barrel - making a 100% profits on that.

    IMHO.
