My opinion only. A share buy-back or one-off dividend does diddly squat to the growth of the company. It might shake a few nervous shorters out of their tree. It won't faze the real shorters, and it might even embolden them even further. It is nothing more than a cheap (?) shot at the shorters.
Use the money to grow the company's income base and lower the income risk. This is how you generate wealth for the shareholders, and how you get rid of the shorters.
Just my opinion, of course.
