badjelly,this is another issue the ASX is ignoring.
at the match up bids and offers should not be allowed to differ by much more than say 5% from the last price before match up or even 5% from the vwap.
putting in 668452 shares at 19.5c is going to have a much bigger effect on the match up price than say 668452 shares at 24c
it is a ploy used by shorters especially if they have taken a large position on shorting the stock.
another solution would be to place a lower weighting on bids and offers that differ by more than a certain percentage from the last sale price or the vwap.
Shouldn't be too hard to modify their weightings formulsa used at the match up.
still, a very disappointing finish.
