Whilst that is true -- the fallacy is that it was actually Howard and Costello who created it
it wasn't ---- it was the world that was creating it --
all Howard did was to not invest -- the only thing he spent money on was buying some votes --- eg. raising the baby bonus massively to pinch some young labor voters
and, that policy took decades for his own party to finally kill off
Howard was just a lucky bugger
ATM - none of them -- eg. Labor or Liberal have answers - for a variety of reasons - but, overall - because both are either behind the times, inept, or gutless.
It gets worse than them not having answers - because they don't even know the questions ----------- that's the real worry.
They keep looking at problems with either 1950's or 1970's or 1990's belief systems -----------
