Ok. Somehow it's either he's tried to contact Wong Tack. Or maybe it's Wong Tack that contacted him. No matter how it's originated from, the intent of the news article is to
generate bad publicity for Lynas. Full Stop. There is a general lack of details at all as to when the interview with Wong Tack happened. Was there a video recording of the interview of Wong Tack? The only thing mentioned is:

Wong Tack, an environmental activist and MP in the new Malaysian government, said two inquiries into Lynas, one parliamentary and one in the executive branch, would begin in the “very near future”.
“The Pakatan Harapan government was voted in by an overwhelming mandate for reform. One of its manifesto promises is to balance economic growth and environmental well-being,” he told SBS News.
Mr Tack also dismissed concerns that tougher regulations or actions against Lynas would deter foreign investment in Malaysia, saying all actions will be in accordance to the rule of law and respect international norms.

Such a short piece of conversation, was that a 3 minute phone call? Who is going to lead the 2 inquiries? Why is there a requirement for 2 separate inquiries? What is "in very near future" mean?
The lack of general simple details just goes to show how much the public should read into this piece of news. It smacks of Wong Tack saying "I don't know too much that I can tell you" or "I actually don't know much that is happening...it's out of my control"
Precisely, and repeating rabid claims like "dumping large amounts of radioactive waste in their backyard for profit" are purely inflammatory, and frankly quite offensive.
That journo & Goofy should actually go to Kuantan and just look at the way Malaysia treats its "backyard", forgetting the bigger issues of deforestation for palm oil, degradation from tin mining and waste disposal, just have a look at the mess from bauxite mining. All for a quick buck when Indonesia stopped exporting bauxite to China, the Kuantan area was raped & pillaged, they turned the rivers red & the trucks ran people down in their haste to get to port.
Where were Goofy, Fuzzy, Bun Teet & the SBS journo 2yrs ago?
Spent a week in Kuantan recently, incl visit to LAMP, and I can assure punters from my observations it is the neatest house on the block, Malaysia has a very long way to go to live up to Lynas standards.
