Do you realise you actually need to win over a majority of voters to form government? Far Right headkickers wont cut it. Howard was successful because managed to hold the moderate and conservative sides of the Coalition together. Abbott didn't do that but was gifted an election by Labor's infighting. According to the polls, he was on his way to a historic loss if hIs party hadnt rushed to Turnbull (who, unlike Abbott, just take a look at any poll) to save them. the Coalition have done their dash with voters now and will need to regroup after the election. If they keep moving right they will find themselves a minor party competing with Hanson, Katter and Palmer for 10-20% of the vote.
