Lots of share get issued all the time for no apparent reason other than to bind companies closer together or as a gesture to another party plus a myriad of other reasons. It isn't illegal and if there is no documentation as to what it was for, then the giver of the shares has nothing. E.g. AH got 15million options given to them. Can CHM come back and sue AH for a percentage of the law firm? I think not. Nowhere in the SOC is there a smoking gun statement saying MMX has to give CHM anything in return for the shares.
