Its all as per Std ops procedure. Clean the hole, build up pressure, open the choke & let it flow for some time (2 hours to 24 hrs).

One would notice say an initial surge of 2400 psi which would over time stabilise to give a more sustainable pressure reading.

Note that with high pressure wells (or any other for that matter) the flow is controlled thro' the blow out preventer & the choke manifold, so if u are getting high pressure readings companies would opt for 3/4" or 1" choke. On Songo songo field, 1" choke has been used by previous operators for pressure ranges between 1300-2100 psi.

My take is KEY didnt release any initial pressure reading as that wouldnt have reflected the actual volume of gas they can flow from KN#1.

However, in 4 weeks, when they open the well for flow testing, expect a massive surge initially & then a stablilised rate.
