Almost as much of a ‘hero’ as that guy who climbed up the side of the apartment to ‘rescue’ the baby another guy was dangling until the first guy could finally climb up & reach out to it.
Thr climber and the dangler should have both been arrested for their stunt but nah- let’s give the climber a scholarship & instant saviour of the planet status.

Not the sort of people I’d invite in to my home. My home? I wouldn’t even invite them to stay in my chicken coop now that I think of what kind of people the overwhelming majority are.

( those ‘rescue’ boats in the Med have clearly been shown to be nothing more than an illegal immigrant ferrying service- hovering just off the coast of Nth. Africa etc waiting to ‘rescue’ people & incorrectly take them hundreds of kilometres away to a European country when the long, long, long established practice for actual refugees is for them to stop in the first safe place. Tunisia etc are plenty safe enough. )
Some of the current charities will die out at best, find themselves in very hot legal water at worst, very soon.
