Why would anyone automatically conclude that a male refugee has "left his family behind" and come here for economic reasons ? It is a prejudiced assumption.

His family may be dead, killed by US or Australian bombs or executed by US supported jihadis. They may be languishing uselessly in a refugee camp, their refugee status not approved yet. He may have taken the risky journey on a boat, but wanting his family to wait until they get refugee status and can fly here safely. Maybe he faces repression for political activity but his family doesn't. Almost every migrant I ever met came here first, got a job, got set up, before bringing out the family.

Personally I think only people with sick and degraded minds sit around all day fabricating new insults and lies to denigrate people less fortunate then themselves.
