I really don't believe the quarry was the issue.

Who knows what Nicholson's motives or changes of mind were all about.
There have been posts by a few RAU posters who live up in that area who have suggested that GN is perhaps a (how to put this politely ?) difficult man to pin down. I think one has even used the term "redneck" but then sugested that at least a 'redneck" was normally "honest".

Now I don't know about the nature of the man and am just recalling a few things that have been said.

What I can say is that RAU tried to do a deal on the understanding that GN was a willing seller and that he was prepared to sell the whole lot.

Given what has happened since then perhaps it would have been wise to have bought the lot and prevent any further involvement by Nicholson in any shape or form.

Nicholson obviously tried to get the best price he could from RAU but when RAU did not meet his expectations or demands he has now kept everything for himself. He has the land, he has his quarry, he will have some shares in Icon(which he might sell if the sp goes up) and he has a royalty from their operations if they manage to make a go of it. If they don't he still has everything he owned before.

Has RAU been outsmarted ? Should RAU have adapted to accept a deal like Icon's ?

IMHO I would say the least amount of interference from GN would be the best scenario so full ownership of Mt C. was the way to go.
There could well be a number of other company reasons why ownership was the prefered option rather than just a right to mine. I am not aware of those but they could exist.

So far as the "company maker" tag. It may have been for RAU because I suspect that maybe they were not going to rely just on tungsten from MT C. That would have given them a production facility and an initial operation. But perhaps WW was going to be fed in as well. Just a thought.

Whether Mt C. is a company maker for Icon will be an interesting wait and see situation.
