The concept of a free power supply to the townspeople is a great idea. The idea that there is going to be 1MW of power there in town though may not be quite right. Sure they will set up a 1MW generator but how much of that power are they going to use on site. Surely they will not give away the lot and not use any themselves. How much power does a drill site and the high pressure pumps use. How big are the pumps? Are they electric motors driving the pumps? Surely if they are not at the moment they will be in the final setup.
BTW 1,000,000w equates to around 416 x 2400w heaters to give you some idea of how much power will be produced.
