There is a distinct underlying dark side on these forums (not just CVI), with a group of well orchestrated posters, heavily representative of multi-nic and "mates of multi nic" types, who target stocks that are both popular within retail circles and offer high liquidity.

The single task of such a group is to mess with the decision making process of holders and buyers alike, to the extent they enhance their trading positions in said stocks.

There exists an entire hierachy, from those offering a semblance of "balance" and subtle contrarian or alternative view, to the other end of the spectrum where we see meat-head profanity as you moderated recently.

The common denominator is always the same however...create doubt and/or stress in the minds holders and buyers alike.

There is no coincidence that the stocks...and by extension the threads targeted...are those listed as being among the most heavily traded via Opes Prime...stocks such as GBG, BMN, IMA, CAZ, RFE, etc...all of which have been subjected to specific targeting from time to time.

Of interest, every one of these stocks has underperformed during the recent market correction...considerably so in fact.

Whilst CVI is not on the current list, it has been an Opes Prime favorite, with some 29.7m shares churned this year so far...thats likely to be out and in...not in and out!

In fact Opes Prime have been responsible for some 10% of all trades in CVI this year.

CVI has also seen it's thread targeted.

Of greatest interest to me, the same names keep appearing on the threads for all the above stocks.

I have been talking about this "dark side" of the market for years...specifically in relation to short selling of stocks that "cannot be short sold" via stock lending. For my troubles I have been branded a moron, a liar and that I am out to fool everyone.

As unfortunate as the Opes Prime fiasco might be for those relatively innocent types, in the back of my mind I am hoping one or two of the more nasty types, who have targeted me with a particularly nasty pursuit, are getting a decent dose of that karma I have often warned would eventually come their way.

Whilst many of these "short players" and market manipulators may now be suffering, I have to wonder how many genuine share holders have been sent to the wall at their hands?
