I lost 250k during the GFC, and the one thing you find out is what type of person you are. If you realise you can't let it go, it destroys you. The sun will always shine and no one's trying to kill (still want that money though)
The head of Colgate Palmolive once said "only the paranoid survive" and he was right! We too often only live in an echo chamber of good or bad news. Being prepared to question the information makes you a wiser person. Additionally, others will learn the same lessons, there is too much personal debt for others not to learn (1929 crash was caused by margin loan debt)
