Sure, immigration needs to be appropriate -both in numbers as well as in skills- but cutting it out altogether will do nothing but bring the economy, the social, cultural and foreign relationships down to an unsastainable level.
Problems are solved by the brain not the gut; intellectually rather than emotionally.
