Had nothing to do with the Mr Ward, there was no infrastructure to make use of the energy and to build it made the business model unviable.
Kinda like building a gas pipeline from the pilbara to sydney, great idea, cheap source of energy but to get it to the end user you were paying more, so you scrap it, say Geoff had balls to go in and try and make the impossible possible back then.
