If you are so sure, that ANZ was so sure it had legal title, why was it allowing Opes to lend that "legal title" to other parties , who then sold it to other people.
You keep saying that ANZ has a legal relationship only with Opes and not with anybody else. So how would ANZ ever enforce a return of the borrowed stock ?
