billy, following up my earlier reply regarding agrichar. I see that agrichar appears to increase the growth of plants, and it appears that they are giving credit to the increased carbon availability. However the agrichar will also contain other nutrients and trace elements that could also be at least partly responsible for increased plant growth. It seems to be early days and a lot of the enthusiasm seems to be driven by the climate change debate, and perhaps even influencing them to find the results that they want. I think a lot more research and analysis, and more trials involving various controls are needed. I would like to see a chemical analysis of typical agrichar, do you have a link?
