It's passive funds rebalancing IMO and shorters taking advantage. Seen it before. Some passive funds have also been getting out of the gold business altogether from reports I've heard.
Sure it's sentiment but the fall we have seen in the last 12 days goes beyond sentiment. It's either an illegal leak of market sensitive information or what I've described above. Hopefully it's the later.
The market doesn't suddenly wake up one morning and see the risk that it did see the day before and start seeling down a stock by + 25% on no new information. Esh
