I think rather than bulbs they're after, it's the big data and behaviour patterns that is prime reason why they're in this.

For example, if LIFX were to get a contract to provide light bulbs to a new high rise building, there are datas from thousands of sensors working in that building that Buddy could capture and tabulate to provide meaningful feedbacks to that current building owner OR package it up as a sustainable study which could be provided to other existing building owners on how they could better manage their building.

Also, over a million of LIFX bulbs are out there, if they were to be integrated into Works with Ohm, any building that has a big number of LIFX bulb could potentially become Buddy's customers too if they were to decide that they need monitoring for their building straight off the bat. This also depends on what sensors are there in the bulb and what it does.

That's just my 2 cents understanding.
