The problem for the Liberals is they have reached the Gillard terminal stage and the longer they hang on the worse the electoral loss. Labor saw this coming and switched back to Rudd to save the furniture (which he did with a bit of help from Tony). The Liberals don't have this option, and like a bucket of prawns in the sun, the stink is only going to get greater the longer they hold on.
Labor is going to win the next election. The Liberals need to do what they can to ensure we have a credible opposition and not a tiny rump. The sooner we go to a general election the better. I will be voting strategically in the upcoming Wentworth byelection to do what I can to ensure we don't end up with a Labor landslide in 9 months time.
