Dudes, you also miss a critical element that as a christain would not be important. If isarel is left unprotected, christianities most sacred sites would be destroyed by by the muslims. At present 3 faiths have their most religous and historic foundations in jersulam. With out 'protection' money these foundations would be destroyed.
