we all knew from the beginning that the biggest risk was not geological but political. giving MS the benefit of the doubt perhaps there is something smelly in Cameroon but maybe the president is stringing MS along and he is just conveying what he has been officially told.

I don’t believe The president is stringing MS along, but if he is then what chance does MS have of getting Bakassi from The President

We are under no illusion that this project has the potential to be extremely profitable for all of the joint venture partners and we intend to bring it to fruition as quickly as possible. Therefore, the first critical hurdle is to complete a feasibility study on the project. Mr Conrad Maher, the recently appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board, is currently in Paris with a team of experts to commence the review and gathering of the Gulf Oil USA data as the first stage of this feasibility study."

CityView Corporation Limited (“CityView”) is pleased to advise that it has commenced the initial stage of a feasibility study with the view of fast tracking the development of the North Matanda Oil Project in the Cameroon.

Not once did I read that they went to Matanda as part of the study.
I wonder how much money was allocated to this study.

a comment if not a mutual satisfation to both parties they can exchange their rights for other assets, just what do you think they are talking about here.
Are they not trying to swap Matanda for Nigar Delta, why do you think in all updates they have both marked.

Who are they going to negotiate or swap with?
Turnberry, who may have had a questionable lease in the first place.
SNH, who seem to be a bit peed of with CVI
How /why does anyone think that Turnberry has legitimate access to Bakassi.
Bakassi has just been handed over to Cameroon. In fact the upper west side does not get handed over until June/ July 2008.
Did Turnberry get dibbs on Bakassi through Cameroon while it was still part of Nigeria?

FWIW, Part of Bakassi peninsula is already granted. Total’s “sandy gas” concession

Personally I think Cameroon is dead for CVI.

Obviously the implicit question raised though would be does CVI have similar title problems in Angola?

I was a bit rushed yesterday. Only had time for Matanda.
More to come. I need to be careful how and what I write.
