A lot of these guys behind the scenes of these institutions are very intelligent & many would have a PhD in mathematics as well as other science degrees.
The inner workings of the financial system can be complicated & daunting.
The algorithms used in calculating the premiums for Put options would be one. Sure a computer would do it these days, but when options trading was invented someone had to come up with the mathematical equation used to calculate the value of the option & the premium that needed to be paid. Not easy to do.
GXY members may not want to hear this but the shorts are sophisticated traders with a high tolerance to risk. I tip my hat to them because it takes cojones to short a stock knowing full well your losses could be limitless. Credit where credit is due because it's something I could never do.
Ultimately in the long run GXY shareholders will come out on top.
