"Retracements/expansions: Dow Theory tells us that trends are interrupted by counter trend movements which retrace part of the previous trend. The extent of such a retracement is often a Fibonacci ratio of the extent of the previous trending move, i.e. 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%. Similarly, once a major trending move is complete, the next major trending move in the opposite direction is expected to expand in a Fibonacci relationship to the previous major trend, i.e. 23.6%, 38.2%, 50%, 61.8%, 100%, 123.6%, 150%, 161.8% and so on".
Test Fibonacci numbers with Rau:
1) Retraced 38.2% (from 9.3 down to 7c)
9.3 - 0.382(9.3 – 3.3) = 7.008 = 7c
2) Bounces back 38.2% (from 7c up to 7.9c today)
7 + 0.382(9.3 – 7) = 7.8786 = 7.9c
If tomorrow can't beat 7.9c, plus there is no good news and CAN NOT hold at 7c, then next retracements will be tested with 50% then 61.8%.
3) 9.3 - 0.5(9.3 - 3.3) = 6.3c
4) May bounce back:
6.3 + 0.5(7.9 - 6.3) = 7.1c
5) Last retracement
9.3 - 0.618(9.3 - 3.3) = 5.592 = 5.6 or lower???
