If drugs are already out there and you can not possibly stop them. I mean, they can't even be kept out of prison, how do you expect to keep them out of a free society? You have to come to terms with the fact they will be here. So the question becomes, who do you want controlling the market? Gangs or the government?

Same thing goes for obesity and sugar, addiction to technology etc. Why dont we ban sugar, tobacco and ipads? Since some people clearly are not capable of moderation?

Can not go around banning commodities that the general populace want. It will create a god damned trillion dollar black market that will fund criminals.

Agreed, many humans are incapable of self control and many want to take drugs to make their miserable lives better.
I ask the same question; why are Australians so unhappy they need to take drugs to enhance their lives.
AS you say, why do some eat themselves into obesity?
I don't know because I have a handle on my addictions.
Do you believe me?
