shane, it is interesting your observation about the sun's output declining over the last 30 years because that coincides with a 30 year period of declining rainfall, at least in the southern hemisphere.
The IPCC theory apparently has it that irrespective of the level of solar radiation reaching earths surface, it is the increased atmospheric CO2 that causes the atmosphere to warm thus increasing the amount of water vapour it is able to hold in equilibrium, thus reducing rainfall.

It seems logical in itself, but a couple of questions.

If this process of positive feedback continues, what effect does it have at reducing the amount of solar radiation reaching the earth's surface to the point that evaporation ceases?

Given that the most recent period of generally drier conditions were preceded by a similar period of generally wetter conditions, how does that fit in with the IPCC theory given that overall, the second half of the 1900's were generally wetter than the first half, and that in turn may have been not as dry as the preceding half century.

Do you think that there may be some other self regulating factors involved that may override the IPCC positive feedback system, and if so, over what time frame does such cycle operate?
Or is it that there is no other factors involved?
