Imagine what would have happened if Tony said on the conference call "Yeah, we're looking at doing an immediate CR". SP would be very unlikely to climb the way it did post-Aus results and the CR would have come in at a lower PPS, resulting in further dilution. It's a bit sneaky but probably for the long-term good.

I suppose at base-level this was misleading to new investors who bought shares on the basis that no CR would be done til next year, if at all. However, I did not buy any more shares and so I am rather selfishly pleased at the outcome.

Good old Tony looking after the long-termers at the expense of the non-believers who had to wait until after results are out.
