hi mparry, JD has had a few listings for the gold device from secondary sellers (for example : https://item.jd.com/33208124605.html, https://item.jd.com/27077479852.html, and https://item.jd.com/20958883331.html).
BUT what you have found is the first occurrence of the gold device being sold by JD itself via the Olay flagship store. That's a big difference since the consumers don't generally buy from or trust the other listings. One more flagship listing for the gold device on its own : https://item.jd.com/8663830.html.
Another point : you talk about the number of potential consumers on these two websites being in the hundreds of millions. Lets tie that in with the fact that we have so far only sold one million or so of these devices. Some have been saying here on hc, that pretty soon the infuser sales will start to decline since there is no need to repurchase the device. I would argue there is still huge opportunity for infuser sales in China (10s of millions). All that has to happen is that the device has to "catch on" like some other Olay products have. Until now, sales have been respectable, but not viral yet. We watch.
