The first mover advantage and network effect is extremely strong and should not be underestimated.
Brand strength is everything in this business model, and the average layperson on the street has heard of Afterpay but scratch their heads at Zippay (Yes, I too conducted my own "field research").
Afterpay is Google, Zip is Microsoft Bing. There's room for both, but how many of you use Bing?
