JP has a lot of direct experiences which I respect highly so his comments do require careful consideration where as mine is just a long term holding of one oiler and research.

I keep thinking about that 2012 incident back in 2012 when PCL were drilling in Kenya with Tullow as a JV partner. PCL slipped out info about a gas column that ended up being non commercial and I believe the JV partners were not happy at that time.

PCL implied in their trading halt that it was to better manage release of info. This could be as simple as heading into the target zone (ahead of schedule) and results will be known by Monday latest. Maybe they got a show and were asked by Tullow to not jump the gun.

I exited PCL as I decided to play the odds and go fully in my other stock but I do hope PCL holders get a win here, especially the long term holders that have supported the company for years through difficult times.
