I agree with your sentiment that Oct/Nov news would not bad in the scheme of things and reactions should be tempered. However, when a company states Key Objectives to be achieved in Q1, they need to achieve them or, if not, inform shareholders of mitigating circumstances.
I'm in for the long haul, and although missed deadlines matter little if the end result is the same, they do reflect poorly on management
