The rig is currently in las Palmas. How long will it take to drill you ask?

They are probably waiting for the special liner to save some drill time and go direct through the volcanic magma chamber under the Canary islands rather than add another 50km of drilling to bypass it.

The lateral drill distance is only 1750km using this direct route and at 50m per day it should take around 35,000 days to reach the exploding puppy. It will take a few days to analyse the result so say 35005 days....



On the other hand they may try sailing the rig itself to the Gambia about October 5th and start drilling around October 20th and have the results in December 2018.....
