They’ve taken a 20% pay cut. If this doesn’t get off the ground they will have dedicated years of their lives to being paid below what they would get paid elsewhere. Sure they get paid more than others in other jobs, but they are getting paid less than they would if they took a less risky position where remuneration wasn’t so dependent on the outcome of the company.
