The Spanish war was a civil war mainly between democrats and liberal Spanish people against the faschists of Franco . In a nutshell , in the thirties of the twentieth century , young freedom lovers from all over the world fought in spain against the Fashism that sided with Hitler gang and the Nazi movement . Picasso painting is an account of that war that bled the body and soul of Spain until 1970 when franco has finally gone away to meet in hell his buddy Adolf .Not until 1990 , Spain has been able to cast away that dark period in its history . mind you the Spanish have had some other eras in history that regressed them to abyss for hundred of years ( ask Isabella for her stupidity in exiling the Jews in 1492 , an act that hurt Spain until this very day , but that is a different story though it is an integral part of the going today in the middle east indirectly ) . I hope you are not drawing a similarity between that garbage "bloodied pool with a suicide bomber boat" and the masterpiece of Picasso . Duff
