This is by no way a personal swipe at toy...it however a scathing attack on the views you present.

The difference between CVI and previous groups is a willingness to help improve the lot of the locals...genuinely...this has been the central theme to Smyth's efforts throughout.

To compare this with the "rape of Africa" is more a reflection on your own poor understanding and somewhat insular albeit uninformed expectations of CVI's goals...and I suspect of Angola as a whole.

It really is possible to help others in the process of helping oneself...god knows the Angolan's need it after what they have been through over the last 20 years!

One of the biggest problems faced by the region has been at the hands of pompous and plainly inapproriate expectations imosed by those who would make the world clones of themselves...but not provide the neccesary tools for others do do so.

This is an entirely innapopropriate view.

The problem is, such impositions are akin to corporate missionary's, who barge in with everyone's "best interest at heart"...lol...and wasn't that a wonderfully arrogant thing to do?

Even in this situation however, they did so not out of a sense of charity, not even a sense of equality...no, they do so in order to engender a future trading partner from whom they can make profits from.

Your views are so far removed from reality, one must question if not arrived at via sterotypical self-righteous "opinion", then by what other possible measure?

Thank god such motherly, self serving and above all else, condescending views are not over there in Angola right now...acting on our behalf at the "coal face".

    Cheers!
