I think most people miss the point about the plant - having it finished does not mean that it will work.

They have a complex ore-body extracting copper, cobalt and nickel and this means a complex plant with very sensitive chemistry. You need to get the acid, heat, pressure requirements exactly right to get product out the other end.

Given the problems with actually building the plant it would not surprise me one bit that they have major production problems.

Another issue that I have been waiting for management to announce is the certainty that Compass has secured sales contracts for its product - no use producing a product if you have no customers.

Does anybody know of a smelter that takes a cobalt/nickel concerntrate - I know of some in Finland but none in this part of the world?
