It is also worth noting that ABMC is primarily a developer/manufacturer of drug testing/diagnostic devices and therefore not a distributor as such although it is obviously out there promoting the merits of its products through a variety of networks as does SBN.

Its saliva based product Oral Stat is most definitely in direct competition to Oraline but its current advantage atm is that it tests for up to 8 drugs. SBN is moving to soon launch its next generation of products in the form of Oraline 6 and 8 which will undoubtedly, elevate Oraline to being the best saliva based device of its kind currently on the market today. A pretty handy time to do that I would have thought given the explosive growth in the area of drug testing in the workplace, schools and roadside.

From my perspective following the discussion regarding Inverness Medical Innovations yesterday, ABMC being a company listed on NASDAQ, merely presents itself as another potential suitor of the smaller but nevertheless threatening SBN should ABMC sense that SBN's lead product Oraline is beginning to impact its revenues by increasing it share of the market!

Every corporate owns an exit strategy- I am starting to sense that at its very low market capitalisation, the SBN exit strategy is becoming far more evident and this is only enhanced by the fact that they own some decent IP!
