It really depends on whether a thicker interlayer will increase efficiency (i.e. send more UV and IR to the PV cells in the frame) or detract from it. The opacity of the glass allows for 70% of visible light to pass through, thickening the interlayer could decrease this and whether or not that is desirable depends on what ClearVue think and what the application would be.

IMO it's not just how much UV or IR light they can capture but also the efficiency of the PV cells in the window frame.

Let's not forget that it's not the glass generating the electricity but the glass and the window frame in combination.
