brilliant movie, badjelly. H.G. Wells' "Time Machine." I remember the library. Stacked with books that haven't been touched for centuries. Knowledge and wisdom all turned to dust! And those morlocks! And the changes in fashion!
A great look into one of greatest desires: to be able to look into the future. And a great examination of our greatest fear: the loss of personal will.
But you've lost me with your question about breeding fat humans instead of animals. We might be carnivores but we're not cannibals. The principal is, therefore, not the same. Herbivores, carnivores and omnivores is a natural part of the animal survival cycle. As humans, we can, if we wish, eliminate the carnivore part but it is a legitimate part of our diet. What we ought to try most conscientiously and do is to make sure that the animals we eat do not suffer. We are yet very far from achieving this and had I the ability to do more in that respect, I would.
