If the libs really look like losing to the crooks closer to an election, Scomo might bring out the big guns. It is all about timing.
If he reduces immigration he could win as Hanson and other minorities may well preference them. It is not about racism, which the left would lie and spread rumors about, it is about sustainability as the country groans under the weight of all these extra people. We can't keep up. Have immigration, just take the pressure off for a while until things catch up.
Walking from Paris is a larger risk in some odd ways. The kool-aid brigade will use that and suggest the govt is out of touch and in denial. This is what you get when hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent telling everyone about climate change at every opportunity. Many people begin to believe it without knowing anything about it themselves. It is like advertising coke on every street corner just to remind you the product exists.
Scomo might be better to stay away form the Paris thing altogether and do nothing about it until he gets elected. Then he can walk if he wants. The problem is that $400m is nothing to a govt these days and its almost small chips to keep the nutty minority happy and off your back. Politicians don't mind sweeping things under the carpet.
I see shorten has said he will keep the border force alive and well. The left within his own circus want to open the borders up. Imagine being that out of touch with reality? You could not trust shorten anyway. If he thought he needed their support, he would sell his mother and probably already has.
