re: miles - a real tragedy Hi Miles,
David has passed away (just announced) and the bouncer who felled him was a boxer (single blow to the chest, heart region, according to some news reports).
It's always nice getting one's facts right before jumping to any conclusions, but will this guy now surrender himself to the Police. I think not.
As someone who grew up in South Australia and looked upon David as a cricketing hero, and who has followed him for all these years in Victoria (as a Victorian immigrant), today is nothing less than an absolute tragedy.
My thoughts (and those of many others) are with the Hookes family tonight. Hopefully, we can all learn from this tragedy.
Something needs to be done with our pub scene - regulating and registering bouncers for starters and applying the same rigid licensing standards as are applied in some other security related professions.
